Transforming Sheri: Doing This for Me

Over the past several years, my life has been defined by the stresses of work and life as a single parent living in a city just north of Los Angeles. At work, I routinely clocked over 60 hours a week in a high-stress environment, and I found myself in the habit of winding down with several glasses of wine with dinner and dessert most nights. The only nice gym was 30 minutes away and I was unwilling to spend that kind of time driving to work out, especially with a son at home.

The stresses kept piling up and the pounds were piling on, and I knew I needed to make a big change in order to get my health back. I kicked into high gear, got a new job, found a home, and moved my son and our two dogs to Aliso Viejo. I chose Aliso Viejo largely because I had previously stayed at the Renaissance ClubSport hotel and had sworn to myself that if I ever had the chance to live near this beautiful club and become a member, I would.

It took me a while to settle into my new job and surroundings, so I wasn’t using the club as often as I had hoped. One day, as I walked through the lobby, a poster for the Rev32 weight loss and nutrition program caught my eye. Now in my 40s, I thought to myself that this could be the program I needed to get back the muscles I had in my 20s when I regularly lifted weights and ran 10Ks and half-marathons. I signed up for the free demo workout and, at the info session, peppered Coach Jason with countless questions. I was convinced! I signed the contract, registered for the Lose It! app to support my nutrition strategy, bought UCAN powder, and set my alarm for 4:40 a.m. (ugh!) — I was ready!

During the first few weeks of Rev32, the coaches and my fellow 5:30 a.m. Revvers must have thought I was either shy or stuck up because I didn’t talk very much. In reality, I was still half asleep! It took a while, but I adjusted to waking up at 4:40 a.m. four days a week to work out. Now, every time I walk through the club doors for my 5:30 a.m. session, I’m wide awake and looking forward to what surprises our Rev32 coach has in store.

I love that every workout is different yet somehow consistent, which allows me to feel confident and comfortable as we go through the sets and reps. Each Rev32 coach has a different training style, but they’re all attentive, patient, professional, and kind.

Rev32 has pushed my body to its limits and I have finally reclaimed my health. Through just eight weeks of Rev32, I lost 13 pounds of fat and gained 1.5 pounds of lean muscle. I cannot thank the entire Rev32 team enough for supporting me so effectively on my personal journey!
